Smooth ride, slight app hiccup

I used Waymo One for an airport transfer last week. Booking through the app was straightforward, and the car arrived two minutes early. The Jaguar I-PACE was clean, and the ride itself was incredibly smooth and quiet, even on the freeway. The Waymo Driver navigated urban traffic flawlessly. My only minor issue was that the app briefly froze when I tried to add a stop mid-ride, but it recovered quickly. Customer support was responsive when I messaged them about it after the ride, just to report the bug.

Absolutely loved my Waymo ride!

Oh my goodness, I just had my first Waymo ride and it was amazing! The self-driving taxi service is so cool. I felt totally safe and relaxed. The car was spotless. I will definitely be using Waymo again soon and telling all my friends about it!

Good experience, but price adds up

I tried Waymo for the first time for a round trip to a concert. The autonomous ride-hailing was a novel experience, and it felt very safe and comfortable. The car's navigation was spot-on, and it handled busy areas well. My main criticism is the pricing; while competitive with premium ride-shares, it's not always the cheapest option for everyday use. It's a great service, but perhaps a bit pricey for frequent trips if you're on a budget.

Great value with first ride credit

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best deal. I found a referral code online that gave me a free first ride on Waymo One, which was a great incentive to try it out. The ride itself was smooth, and the car was clean. Without that credit, it would have been a bit more than I usually pay for a taxi, but getting that initial saving made it totally worth it to experience the autonomous transport. Felt like good value overall.

Super easy to get around

Needed a ride downtown for brunch and just used the Waymo app. Car came super fast, and it was pretty cool to just sit back and let it drive itself. No issues at all. Made getting out on a Sunday morning way less stressful. Totally recommend it.

Consistently reliable service

I've been using Waymo One since it launched in my area, and this latest ride was just as consistent as my previous ones. I needed to get across town for an appointment, and the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid showed up on time, as always. The Waymo Driver handles the routes I take regularly with ease. It's the reliability that keeps me coming back; I know what to expect every time.

How reliable is Waymo for airport trips? I've got an early flight out of Sky Harbor next month, don't want to miss it if the car is late.

R Robert 3 weeks ago
Used it for PHX a bunch, it's usually pretty good. No issues with timing on my end.

They do go to the airport. I'd still probably leave a little extra time just in case, but overall it's been super reliable for me to get to Sky Harbor.

Is it true Waymo is safer than like, an Uber with a human driver? Heard something about their accident rate being super low.

D Donna Mitchell 1 day ago
That's what they say, yeah. The tech is constantly learning and it doesn't get distracted. I felt pretty safe in one.

I've read that too, about how their safety record is better than human-driven cars. They're super careful, like, they react to things faster than a person would sometimes.

Can you actually fit more than two people comfortably in a Waymo? Like, if I'm with a couple of friends?

C Chloe Perez 1 month ago
Depends on the car. Some are the minivans, those can fit a few. Others are smaller. Just check the app, it usually shows the car type.

Most of the ones I've been in (the Chrysler Pacificas) can seat up to 4 passengers easily. The Jaguar I-PACE ones are probably a bit tighter, maybe 3 at most comfortably.

Thinking of trying Waymo in Phoenix for the first time. Are there any new user discounts or referral codes floating around?

J Jeff 1 month ago
Yeah, usually. My friend got like $15 off her first ride last month with a referral code. Check Reddit, someone usually posts one.

Definitely look for a referral link! Most new users get some free ride credit, like 10 or 20 bucks, especially if you sign up through someone else's invite.

Does Waymo have any kind of loyalty program? Like, if you ride a lot do you get free rides or something?

J Jennifer T. 1 month ago
Not that I know of. It's mostly about the referral system for discounts.

K Katie H. 1 month ago
Nah, I haven't seen anything like a points system or loyalty tiers. Best bet for saving money is still those referral credits for new users or sharing your own code.
